Local New Forest News: Dangerous Donkeys and County Fairs!
This week we are keeping it local, with news from in and about our gorgeous New Forest location. We look into an emerging story about a group of aggressive donkeys and the argument over the feeding by tourists of the wild animals plus news from the Cambridgeshire County Fair and the ever-alluring draw of all things British-made.
Donkey Attacks in New Forest
Some rather intriguing news has become apparent in recent weeks concerning a group of New Forest donkeys! These particular animals have become highly aggressive towards members of the public and are prone to attacks, the latest one involving a small girl. Among other noted occurrences, a woman and child were knocked to the ground by the angry animals and others have been pestering visitors for food.
The news raises the debate over whether members of the public should be more strictly controlled when it comes to feeding the animals within the New Forest, so as to minimalise their contact with people and reduce their expectation and dependence on humans to provide food. Although many believe these could be isolated incidents, their behaviour and reasons for the attacks are being investigated further.
Celebration of Country Life
A more light-hearted affair took place recently with an aim of celebrating the world of country living, the Cambridgeshire County Fair. Thousands were in attendance and with excellent weather raising moods, the fair was said to be one of the most enjoyable of late.
