Great service, excellent product

Ordered it in Camel, size S. Color a bit darker than it appeared on the screens of my devices. Fabric feels nice but is softer than I expected. Had some doubts about the size, since I am at the upper limit of the chest/hip measurements in the size chart, but it fits very comfortably nevertheless (I'm 174cm, slender athletic build, 71kg). Even wearing a thick sweater or the like under shouldn't be a problem. Sleeves reach slightly beyond my knuckles. It's a very long coat, stops just above my ankles. Clearly, size M would have been much too big for me. Out for the first time in light rain it's comfortable, I did not sweat wearing a T-shirt under at c. 20 Celsius. Looking forward to wear it in rough weather later in the year...

When my last long coat died I spent a LONG time looking for a replacement. Most of those I found were too short ('long' means long!), or made of plastic like a pac-a-mac or designed for posing about in a city rather than being worn by country folk who actually know what bad weather is.



And I live in the North of Scotland, so I definitely know.



This jacket hits every requirement right on the nose. Firstly, it's long; PROPERLY long. It covers the top half of my Aegle wellies meaning driving rain doesn't flow down into them. The cuffs are easily adjusted with gloves on and have 3 sensible options. The hood can be removed but is generous and fully adjustable for fit. The collar is comfortable and can be turned up against the winter wind, and stays up. The lower portion of the coat has poppers to prevent it being blown by the wind, effectively sealing you into a tube of warmth.



This coat is my friend, so much so that I have bought 2 of them, one (light tan) to keep clean for office trips and another (chocolate brown) for daily dog walking. I'm seriously toying with buying a third for stock, in case they are discontinued in the future. Basically, this is my go-to coat for the winter which up here is every month other than August.



The only thing to bear in mind is that this isn't waxed cotton, so don't try forcing your way through a hawthorn hedge like you would in your favourite waxed jacket. But thorns aside, this coat is just perfect.

I have had a large Livingstone Men's coat for nearly 2 months now, love it and expect it will last me for many years. I am 5' 11" and bought this coat as it was the longest I could find, and with previous coats and raincoats finishing about my knees I still get wet legs. With the Livingstone I still have a small gap between the bottom of the coat and my walking boots, and while I get a bit wet there, it is better than anything else I have had. I wear it with the front press studs done up all the way down, and don't have the rear press studs done up.

By measurement I was just at the top end of a small, but bought the large to give room for additional layers underneath. With or without a jumper the size has been great. I was concerned the sleeves were too long, but then found the cuffs are designed to be folded back, at which point my hands are free. However I normally wear it with the cuffs down as with my hands in a fist they are fully covered and dry, and there is a small tab I can hold on to.

The coat has been nice and dry, even in some proper rain. It has no issues at all with misty type rain.

I wear the coat to work wearing just a business shirt and light trousers and it is warm enough with temperatures down to 10 deg C. The first day at that temperature, without rain, I put a jumper on as thought I might get cool, however had to open the coat up as I was getting hot. If it is raining, I have found I need the jumper as I guess the rain takes the heat away.

The one item that could be improved is the size of the outside pockets. They are only just big enough to hold my gloves and beanie - it would be nice if they were larger.

Overall though, if you can afford it, a great coat

First impressions are that this is a quality garment, well designed, great fit and also stylish. Haven't tested it out in poor weather but am confident it's up to the task!

Great all round coat.

Love the coat. Bit long in the arms but can live with that, good cover when wearing gloves. Not had a chance to test in heavy rain yet but I'm sure the opportunity will come along. Bit snug when fleece zipped in round the tummy but that's down to me having put on a few pounds. Coat very well made, great zips and overall a great purchase.

Amazing quality can’t wait to go for a walk with the dogs in all weathers and stay warm and dry x

I admit I bought this coat with a great deal of trepidation, as I've been disappointed with a number of on-line purchases recently. So, when I first noticed the excellent communication and tracking information being very informative, I began to realise that just maybe New Forest Clothing would prove to be a cut above the norm, and yes, they are. The Baleno Coat doesn't disappoint either, it's extremely well made with all the tiny finishing details that you don't even realise that you need, like the leg straps that prevent the coat opening when walking. I have two dogs and they couldn't care what the weather is like they have to have their afternoon constitutional. Well on this particular day it was absolutely chucking it down, but the Baleno Coat did everything it was described as being able to do. It was waterproof and did the very thing I really wanted it to do and that was not to allow the rain to just run off the coat and saturate my trousers. The fit of the coat is exactly as the New Forest Clothing Company state and as it is lightly lined, I decided to buy one size larger that I normally would so that I could also wear an insulated fleece which would be an added bonus in the cold. All in all, this coat is an excellent quality item, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and the New Forest Clothing Company

Sadly had to send this back, sleeves came past my husband's hands. This coat is designed for very tall people. Not a good fit for Mr. Average. A shame as I love my coat.

Well made, and a good fit. I am 6'2" and the large covers down to mid calf. The coat has an excellent hood, good pockets for the hand warming. Very happy and worth the price.

Really good quality and fit. Alot lighter than the old wax ones.

Slightly on the small size so luckily i went a size up. Extremely well constructed coat and i can't wait to test it in the rain. Length is brilliant as it will cover past my wellingtons to keep everything dry. Plenty of movement when opening the rear flap. I love it

Looks and feels great. A lot warmer than I thought it would be.

4 stars rather than 5 only because I found the breathability to be less effective than I was expecting. It was a muggy day to be fair but my shirt (no jumper required) was soaked from perspiration by way more than I was expecting. I was only strolling along level pavements in town, not exerting myself in any way.

A coat for colder days I presume.

So many other positives though.

I live in Toronto, Canada and did extensive research prior to my decision to purchase the Baleno Livingstone Men's Drovers Coat. It only took 5 days to arrive and upon examination it is evident that this is a extremely well tailored raincoat constructed of probably the finest material available...the attention to detail is impressive...to say the least. Fits perfectly. I cannot wait for the first rainy day!!!

The Baleno Livingstone is a wonderful raincoat. The material and finish are both excellent. This coat will allow me to work in the rain and since I bought the largest size, I have complete freedom of movement inside it. Not used to treating myself to such quality but several good business sales have left me flush. So it was time to splash the cash and am very pleased with this purchase. It was delivered very swiftly.

It took some time for this coat to come into stock (anywhere), and as soon as it did I snapped it up. From initial order, through to receiving, really pleased with the ease and speed of service.

The quality is top notch. The material is nice and weighty, and even when out in rain coming in sideways, the coat held true and stood up to both wind and rain (a bone dry return).

I ordered the medium, which comfortably fits, with a t-shirt and light jumper, which I find is all I need with the coat to keep warm. I'm 40" ish chest and 36" waist. Length wise I'm 5'9" and the coat comfortably covers the top of wellies, and probably a pair of high walking boots.

In summary, you will not be disappointed.

I've tried a number of these style coats out, over the years. This one is streets ahead!
I'm 6'2 34" waist and purchased the Large size. Perfect fit, with or without a heavy jumper on. Extremely well made and has that "very robust" feel about it. Very comfortable a very stylish finish.
It is of a good weight, but not so heavy as as to feel cumbersome, (as can some of the waxed stockman style coats sometimes feel). Good quality zips that of course can take an internal fleece should the wearer wish.. although the coat itself is plenty warm enough I think. A very nice detachable hood, that is pleasingly actually adjustable within itself. Nice touch!
I would strongly recommend this coat and to be honest, can't find a single fault with it.
As to the service received from New Forest Clothing….exemplary.

Good quality coat, well made. Like the lining too, makes the coat comfortable to wear. My only issue is at 5’9 I’m Just about tall enough for the length! However this coat on a wet and windy day in the forest will be excellent!

Great coat very good quality but too long for my partner who is 5.7 feet .
