Great jacket. True to size. Good lightweight

Good lightweight jacket. Keeps wind & rain off & keeps you nice & warm when used with differing layers dependant on temps. The zips, hood & various adjusters are all spot on.
SIZE- I prefer lightweight thin to mid thickness gear for layering up over heavy padded coats so although only 42" chest find 48" is usually perfect & not too baggy without any layers so I first ordered the J. Pyke Ashcombe in XXL but it was sadly just too big. On exchange the XL was out of stock so I opted for a Featherlight & XL is a perfect fit, but I am disappointed at the lack of pockets.
For warmer weather it should be a great rain coat over thin shirts BUT I DO WISH it had pit zips for ventilation as I can see it getting a bit soggy inside despite the breathability.
For colder weather however layering up to suit does the job brilliantly. Starting with only a heavyweight long sleeve shirt then as temps drop adding a quality thermal base layer. Once it hits single figure & freezing temps adding fleece or puffa type layer then works perfectly.
I use a basic Snugpak Softie (the cheap army cold weather mid jacket) for the insulating layer as it weighs nothing, compresses brilliantly without losing its insulating properties, the fabric slides freely & never snags, PLUS it wicks away moisture (and its got 3 huge zipped pockets of its own & packs away into 1 of those).
By layering up as above for differing weather conditions the Featherlight can serve well throughout the entire year.
Waist pockets are large in size so no issues with room for caps, gloves, etc & the Nelson pocket will fit a large mobile with a little room to spare but it could've been better if half as deep again.
1 STAR DEDUCTED due to the sad & woeful lack of extra pockets & for having no insulation inside the hand/waist pockets for hand warmth. It desperately needs 2 large lower inside dump pockets with at least 1 reasonable sized inner upper pocket as they would've made it perfectly suitable for all scenarios such as hunting etc BUT if you just need a smart & well weatherproofed lightweight & don't need the extra storage then you won't go wrong with the Jack Pyke Featherlight.

Great jacket really pleased with it. Added it to my collection as a mid weight jacket. It is not to heavy but also keeps u warm.

Good quality waterproof jacket however not as lightweight as I was hoping for. Will be perfect for autumn and winter showers though.

Had looked at similar jackets, but this was far superior in appearance, style and finish. Just the job!

My heavy Jack Pyke coat has been an excellent product for over 20 years, and this Featherlite jacket appears to be well made as well. The sizing is slightly larger than I had hoped for.

Just what i wanted for a lightweight, packable jacket. It's two way zip with the additional velcro closure means i'm not worried about the zip failing - at least if it does, i'll still be able to use the jacket. Sensible pockets, hood and extended length on the back are all details that make it much better than similarly priced alternatives. Great product.

Quality jacket used in very wet weather did not leak would recommend

Great jacket. Quick to slip on at the clay ground and it packs down small in my bag. Waterproof and has a good hood. It won't keep you warm but it will keep you dry. Good value too.

What more can you want for winter dog walk? A coat that is 100% dry, has pockets for everything you need to carry and a hood that you can tighten up to keep out the frauds and rain but allows you to still be able to see clearly. Unlike many similar jackets I looked at.

Fantastic little jacket. Great fit and especially good when paired with the trousers. Would love to give it five Stars but unfortunately the chest zip does leak in heavy rain. The zip is fine but the fabric tab at the bottom act as a water trap and it gradually seeps in.

Great jacket and excellent value for money. Does what it says, stayed dry and also keeps the wind out.

I usually take a 10/12 so the Small is perfect fit. Enough pockets for phone, keys , poo bags etc! Great for dog walking but also good when beating, although would be a bit careful in very thick thorny cover

Very good except for lack of pockets

Excellent jacket. Have worn it in some heavy downpours and works effectively at repelling rain and I stayed dry throughout. I have not noticed any buildup of moisture inside the jacket and therefore conclude that the material is effectively breathable.
Given the price, I would definitely recommend.
