The Keela Hydron jacket is excellent and is just what I wanted. The fit is perfect and the jacket gives me the protection from the weather I need.

Superb bit of kit. Used in the Lakes early this winter (snow and rain) and this performed exactly as described in the sales blurb. Great for folks like me with a stocky build (I’m 6’2” 44” chest/34”waist) over base layer and mid layer. Breathes well and fab ventilation when working hard uphill. Robust material.
Only 4 stars though as when climbing there is absolutely no way that hood fits over a climbing helmet - I can get it to if the main zip is undone a bit but that’s no so good when out in the elements.

Absolutely brilliant jacket, the design, fit and overall quality has made it my go to jacket. Love the 'arm pit vents', worn my rucksack with it and so easy to open and close, chest pockets are a very good size too.

Had it a few months now in a variety of weather conditions. Definitely showerproof and when I got caught in a downpour whilst soaked it didn't suck body temp out. Comfortable fit. Pockets need to be bigger, chest pockets to get your hands in would be better

Fantastic jacket, great fit

I wore it out yesterday. A bleak, cold, damp day with a lot of drizzle. This jacket was perfect. I wore a base layer, thin mid layer and the Hydron. I didn't get too hot and I stayed dry. Perfectly plugged the gap between fleece or hard shell.

Mid weight, tough, weather resistant and very breathable. This is almost the perfect hill staling jacket for Scotland. Wish I had bought one sooner.

Great jacket. Only worn it for a few days but already proven it's worth. Kept the rain and wind off when out but it did not get to hot. Hood is a good size and goes over my cap.

Already used it on a number of occasions, very impressed with all specs of this softshell.

First time I've used New Forest Clothing and they were great. Have other Keela products and they are also well made and top quality. So what I'm about to say was a surprise to me and I hope it's a one off. I would return this product but in my zeal I removed the labels before finding the issues my bad!

The coat has a RRP of £150 (here £130) and I'm used to Rab, Paramo, Mountain Equipment and Montane products. My issues with jacket are personal and may not bother others, but the colour is dull and not as light as the photos but the contrasting rust on deisel/greyish blue show numerous stitching threads which are very visible. More seriously is that the inner finish of the jacket stitching is poor and loose in places (Regatta quality not high end products). The inner fleece is warm but very thin and used for the pockets, so good for breathability alongside the superb pit zips, but not sure how robust it will be over time with keys etc. Would I buy again, well as minimum I'd exchange for a red or black and hope the inner finishing was the usual Keela quality, and contrasting threads were less obvious to the eye so it looks less tatty. I was torn between this and the mountain equipment mission or frontier and I would get those now. I've added some photos but the issue is clearer to the eye than the photos.

It is comfortable and more water resistant than I was expecting. The only downside is that I find the hood annoying. Even when rolled up as a collar, it doesn't sit right and tends to get in the way. Besides that, it is great.

This really is an excellent hillwalking jacket for nearly every occasion (with possible exception of really heavy rain). Light, warm and weather resistant. Also the best price I could find anywhere.
