It works brilliantly as a layering piece with a beautifully classic look. It offers weather protection but it doesn’t feel or look bulky. Lovely lightweight and rainproof alternative to a plastic jacket! Being 5ft8inch, the body length is a bit short on me, but not a new issue! The poppers are very stiff at the moment, but should loosen up with use. It would be useful if the hood drawstrings had toggle/stoppers on them, but otherwise a very useful garment.

It's a great jacket but not quite large enough
It's a great jacket but not quite large enough for a chunky jumper underneath. I have since ordered a New Forest Robyn jacket size 10 which is perfect, I'm delighted

I love this jacket already and hope to have it for a long time - it certainly looks good quality. Sizing is on the small side, especially with jumpers underneath so I would definitely go a size up. The hood is detachable and pockets are large enough for all essentials. Only the handwarmer pockets are slightly inconventiently placed quite high. The waist can be made a little smaller for a more slender appearance with some button straps. Especially for petite women, the length is perfect, it actually looks like a jacket and not an oversized blazer! I do also like the cord detail on the collar and the fact that it is made mostly from natural fibres. The wax coating does crease and become white with wearing, but that adds to the character, and can be reproofed.
