I can honestly say this is the best raincoat I have ever had. I live in the Southeast US and it is cool and rainy in winter and spring. I purchased this long raincoat as I work a muddy farmers market rain or shine and walk my dog in the rain, and I wanted to protect all of me from the rain. This is a serious raincoat does that. I am very tall at 6 foot 1 and this glorious beast of a raincoat hits at my mid-shin, keeping me fully dry with my knee-high rubber boots. The arms are also long enough to cover half my hands, so it is tall girl approved! If you are average height it will give ankle-length coverage. It has a couple minor flaws. The hood does not protect my face from rain, so I purchased a rain hat. The zipper does not go all the way down, but at least the buttons do. The pockets, if open, let a small amount of water in, so use waterproof gloves instead of keeping hands in pockets. I sized up to a 20 (fits perfect with room for warm layers) from usual 18. At the farmers market today, standing in the cold soaking rain and mud puddles for 4 hours, I wore this raincoat, my tall rain boots, and my rain hat. Even as I was covered in mud, several people complimented me and asked where I got this raincoat, and I was dry and warm.

I’m from New Hampshire, USA and it’s been a very rainy summer for us over here so far. This jacket is delightful and incredibly well-made for the price. It’s light but also feels expensive and heavy-ish without making me sweat, and it’s very stylish and confirmed as of yesterday to really be water-proof. I also got the matching bucket hat and I just love them both. The only piece of advice I have is look out for the zipper. I don’t know why but I’ve had a hard time getting used to the double zipper. Sometimes it’s super easy and then other times it’s a hassle. Not sure if I just don’t have the method down yet. Otherwise, the perfect raincoat.

At last I found a raincoat that keeps me dry. It also fits well, is a great colour and a great shape. Just what I wanted.

Although I've not had a chance to wear it in the rain yet, the fit is very good, with a size 14 ordered true to size. It's a good length, and I'm sure with a jumper underneath, it'll be warm enough. It also looks very stylish.

The sizing is very different from USA sizing, and I suggest ordering several sizes up from what you normally would wear. I want to be able to wear a cashmere light sweater under this coat, but have plenty of room for a bulkier sweater as well.
I will certainly stay dry here in the Northeastern United States.

This coat ticks all the boxes. I ordered a bigger size although it's bigger in every way it's not that much bigger on the hips which is a shame.

I’m very happy with the fabric, style and workmanship! One thing I can’t quite understand is this…what is the purpose of the underarm cape straps? Are they there to prevent the cape from being blown around by the wind?

Overall it is a great coat for walking the dogs in the rain and it looks good. However, I bought this coat as a Christmas present intially from another store and had to return it because the zip was faulty. I then re-ordered the same coat from New Forest Clothing and although was functioning properly to begin with, 2 weeks of use and I have been told the zip is now difficult to do up. I'm not sure if a problem with the zip is a common fault with the Lighthouse Outback full length raincoat or if we have just been unlucky.

The material is so stiff that it is uncomfortable to wear. It feels like plastic.

Love the style, and it keeps me dry no matter how ferocious the rainstorm. I wish I had ordered a larger size however. I ordered a size bigger than usual as recommended by the reviews, but it was still a bit snug.

Good fit, lovely colour. Haven't tested it out yet in a downpour but I'm hopeful it will do the job.

I feel it's a narrow coat and also smaller fitting, I prefer a looser fit. I'm generally a size 8 but prefer to have room for thick winter clothing under a coat so I went for a 10. This was still a bit less roomy than I'd like so I exchanged for a 12. This means the arms a bit long but should be ok when folded in. It's heavier weight than I expected, comes down to my ankles (I'm 5"”) and I'm looking forward to staying dry and warm on dog walks when the time comes!
